Business Development Manager (remote) (f/d/m)

As travel continues to roar back, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to build new and existing client relationships & business opportunities for our growing team.

Established for over 10 years, we are a prominent media organisation within the  travel sector and are looking for a smart, hard-working and target-driven candidate to join our award-winning business.

Reporting to the Commercial Partnerships Supervisor UK and North America, you’ll sell HolidayPirates’ suite of media products as well as evangelise our business to potential partners in the travel & tourism sector. 

The role contains multi-market responsibilities in the UK, Netherlands and the USA, so having experience at selling across multiple markets is essential.

Alongside this, you will have the ability to manage ongoing partner relationships, always be on the lookout for upsell and account growth opportunities, maintain your own CRM, work cross-functionally as required with other internal stakeholders and work alongside key decision-makers within the  business to play a key role in growing the HolidayPirates group internationally.

  • Lead sourcing: Be able to scour the Travel sectors in the UK, USA and Netherlands independently to look for new business targets
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales pipeline
  • Familiarity with the activities of HolidayPirates’ competitors within each market
  • Pitch HolidayPirates products to target partners to acquire new business 
  • Develop relationships with partners to aid business retention and capitalise on upsell opportunities
  • Attend external meetings with prospective and existing partners, either in person or via video-conferencing
  • Produce regular advertising performance reports and be able to present these reports to external partners
  • Attend relevant trade fairs and exhibitions
  • Work closely and cross-functionally with internal departments e.g. editorial team, marketing department, finance department
  • Experience at conducting business with companies based in multiple markets
  • Target-driven individual
  • 2+ years sales experience within the international  travel & tourism sector
  • Knowledge of common KPI’s for businesses within the international  travel industry and how this may vary according to sector
  • Media sales experience is a clear advantage, including different commercial models (fixed, CPC, CPA, Revenue share)
  • A networker with excellent people and communication skills up to C-Level
  • Analytical skills, specifically the ability to source data from different sources and be able to present conclusions concisely to both external partners and internal stakeholders
  • Initiative and drive to be successful, combined with enterprise thinking
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Google Analytics preferred
  • Willingness to travel overseas, when required
  • Contacts with the following sectors: Multinational hotel chains, Airlines, Cruise Lines or International tourism associations 
  • Experience of working within the travel industry (domestic or international) of the Netherlands
  • Experience of working within the travel industry (domestic or international) of the United States
  • Experience at selling multi-market products or advertising solutions
  • Fluent Dutch speaker

  • As a company we just became fully remote (just note that you do need to be resident in the UK for tax purposes for this role), though we keep a head office in Berlin for staff to use when they choose
